Mask requirements in school polling places

06 May 2022

Under current Directions people attending polling places on school premises to vote are not required to wear a face mask. However, any close contacts to a positive COVID case may only attend a polling place if they have no symptoms, a negative RAT, and must wear a mask as per close contact  rules.

You may still choose to wear a face mask and people are encouraged to wear a mask when they cannot physically distance or if you are at risk of severe illness.

The requirement to wear a face mask for staff, high school students, and visitors remains in place during normal school operations.

With Tasmanians heading to the polls in the coming weeks at both Legislative Council elections and the upcoming Federal election, remember to practise COVID safe behaviours. Physical distancing and good hand hygiene should be observed when at a polling place.
