New positive case in quarantine

21 Nov 2021

A Victorian 18-month-old male infant who travelled from Melbourne on Thursday 18 November with his mother, has been confirmed as a COVID-19 case today.

The infant had travelled to Hobart with his mother who did not have a valid G2G pass. He and his mother were placed in hotel quarantine.

Both mother and infant have now been transferred to the Community Case Management Facility this evening. The child is well.

The risk to the community is considered low.

Hobart Airport has been listed as a low-risk exposure site between 8.25 pm and 9.50 pm on Thursday 18 November 2021.

People who were in the airport at that time are required to monitor themselves for symptoms and get tested if symptoms develop by calling the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738.
