Pfizer and Moderna vaccine for 60+ year olds

17 Sep 2021

Tasmanians aged 60 and over will have access to the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines from today.

People in this age group can now book a Pfizer appointment at one of many state-run community vaccination clinics or their GP surgery.

They also have the option of booking a Moderna vaccine appointment at one of the many participating pharmacies that will have supply from next week.

If you’ve had a first dose of AstraZeneca, it’s important that you do not try to get a second dose of Pfizer or Moderna. You should get your second dose of AstraZeneca as planned. Different vaccines should not be mixed.

AstraZeneca continues to be a safe and effective vaccine and will continue to be available.

This means all Tasmanians aged 12 and over now have access to the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine.
