Helping Tasmanians access their COVID-19 digital vaccination certificate

29 Nov 2021

Peter Gutwein, Premier

As our vaccination rates increase, the COVID-19 digital certificate will provide a trusted tool for Tasmanians to prove they are fully vaccinated.

We want to ensure that all Tasmanians are able to obtain their COVID-19 digital certificate, which is why, in partnership with Services Australia, we are putting in place in-person support for those people who need assistance to download and save a copy of their COVID-19 digital certificate.

From early December 2021, Tasmanians will be able to seek help in obtaining their certificate in person at Service Tasmania centres, and staff will be on hand to offer support for those having trouble accessing the Check in TAS app.

Libraries Tasmania staff across the State are also available to support you with digital skills to access your details online and download your certificate, as well as help you access the information you need.

Additionally, there is a range of support options available for Tasmanians who need support to use the Check in TAS app and to access or find out about their vaccination status.

For information on how to download the app, and how to integrate vaccination status, visit Check in TAS app.

For information about how to get proof for your vaccination through myGov, visit Services Australia.

Vaccinated Tasmanians who can’t get proof online can request a hard copy of their certificate by calling the Australian Immunisation Register on 1800 653 809 or visiting a Services Australia service centre.

Having a copy of your COVID-19 digital certificate will help Tasmanians move freely around the country, visit family and friends, and enjoy the freedoms and activities we have missed since the beginning of the pandemic.

Vaccination remains the single best way we can keep Tasmanians safe from the impacts of COVID-19 and it has been shown to limit the severity and transmission of the disease. Being vaccinated is also a key aspect of our response to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and the broader Tasmanian community.

Our borders will reopen on Wednesday 15 December, so if you haven’t yet, roll up your sleeve and get vaccinated. And importantly, once you are fully vaccinated, download your COVID-19 digital certificate.
