If you’ve been told to quarantine, you must stay at the location where you have been directed by Public Health Services, the Deputy State Controller or an authorised officer, for the amount of time you have been told to.
Depending on your situation, this may be a suitable premises (your home or another approved location) or a government-managed quarantine facility (usually a designated hotel).
Government-managed quarantine facility (Hotel quarantine)
Depending on your risk, you may need to quarantine in a government designated quarantine facility (often a designated hotel).
Suitable premises (Home quarantine)
If approved, you may quarantine at a suitable premise such as a private residence or your home. You may not leave the premises during quarantine unless for an approved reason.
High-risk home quarantine trial
Eligibility is limited to Tasmanian residents or people relocating to Tasmania, who receive approval to enter the State as Essential Travellers under category 8
