AstraZeneca vaccines

AstraZeneca is recommended for people aged 60 years and older.

Current eligibility: Everyone aged 60 years and older.

Where to get vaccinated:


Pfizer vaccines

Pfizer is recommended for people aged 16 years to 59 years.

Current eligibility:

  • Everyone aged 40-59 years
  • All pregnant people
  • People aged 16-39 years who are :
    • Living with an underlying medical conditions
    • Living with or caring for someone with a disability (including NDIS participants and their carers)
    • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people
    • Critical or high-risk workers
    • Household contacts of quarantine and border workers
    • Temporary visa holders who are in Australia and have been approved for return travel to Australia through the travel exemption process
  • Border security and quarantine staff e.g. police, security and hotel staff working in quarantine hotels (workers will be contacted directly about vaccination)
  • Frontline health staff at higher risk e.g. key emergency, ICU, vaccination, testing and ambulance staff, other health care workers (workers will be contacted directly about vaccination)
  • Residents and staff at aged and disability residential care facilities (workers will be contacted directly about vaccination)

Where to get vaccinated:


Children will be vaccinated in phase three if it is clinically recommended and approved.
